Ⅰ. Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy 8-Week Course (Online)

Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) was founded in 1993 by three psychology professors: John Teasdale of Cambridge University, Mark Williams of Oxford University, and Zindel Segal of Toronto University.

The MBCT 8-week course is based on a combination of Mindfulness, Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), and psychology education. This group course is designed to target the psychological mechanisms that lead to depression. MBCT is supported by extensive clinical and laboratory research, and its effectiveness has been fully verified. It is suitable for treating physical and mental illnesses such as depression, anxiety, insomnia, emotional problems, chronic pain, and loss of concentration. MBCT is also widely used in self-care, emotional control, and stress management for healthy people.

The 8-week MBCT course will be taught by a professionally qualified Mindfulness facilitator. Students can follow the trainer to meditate either in an online livestreamed class or an offline teaching format. The course includes group discussions involving 3-4 people or one-on-one Mindfulness communication. This course has 10 sessions, including a course briefing session and a weekly session/mindful day for 8 consecutive weeks.

After 40 years of development, MBSR has become massively popular, helping people reduce stress, relieve anxiety, cope with pain caused by diseases, effectively improve their life, and gain a sense of happiness.

. MSC Mindful Self-Compassion Certification Course (Online)

Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) was founded in 2010 by two professors: Dr. Christopher Germer, a clinical psychologist at Harvard Medical School, and Kristin Neff, a psychologist at the University of Texas. Over the past decade, many scientific studies have shown that mindful self-compassion can greatly promote health and well-being. It can improve interpersonal relationships, help people to care more about others, improve self-awareness, strengthen emotional resilience (frustration resistance), and enhance one’s overall life satisfaction. MSC also helps relieve stress, anxiety, depression, and trauma.

Compared with the MBSR and the MBCT courses, the MSC 8-week course has in-depth content, meticulously designed, and incorporates more psychotherapy techniques such as acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), compassion focus therapy (CFT), family system therapy, and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). MSC is a total of 10-session course, including an introduction session and a weekly session day with a half-day of Mindfulness compassion practice for 8 consecutive weeks.

. MBCR Mindfulness Cancer Recovery Course

Since 1996, Carlson et al. at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre affiliated with the University of Calgary in Canada has been using Mindfulness exercises to serve cancer patients. Their Mindfulness-Based Cancer Recovery (MBCR) course is based on Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) founded by Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn at the Center for Mindfulness at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. MBCR adds unique interventions that target psychological problems among cancer patients, which has achieved outstanding practical results. Two years of clinical trials and research indicate that MBCR can help patients psychologically and physiologically, reduce stress hormone levels, lower blood pressure, and increase cell telomerase length. These findings have been confirmed in several cancer patients.

Mindfulness exercises provide an effective means of dealing with strong emotions and negative thoughts. It helps people calm down when faced with challenges, assess situation and resources, then make the best decisions and choose the right actions. The MBCR course has 12 sessions, including a course briefing session, a 2-hour course per session for 10 consecutive weeks, and a day of Mindfulness.
